Travel Advisory 2.1

The Indiana Travel Advisory app is designed to assist users in staying informed about changing travel conditions.

• Users have the ability to set alerts for any county or counties of their choice, covering all counties within the state. Alert notifications are sent when there is a change in travel status in the selected county.
• Weather conditions for each county are available. By selecting a county, users can view the temperature and an icon indicating the current weather conditions.
• Contact details for county emergency management agencies, which provide status updates, are provided in the app.

The app relies on data reported by county Emergency Management Agencies (EMAs). Some counties only update their data when there is a change in status and may not consistently confirm 'Normal' conditions.

For instance, County X might have maintained a 'Normal' status without any travel emergencies since June. In such cases where status remains unchanged, no updates are made. Once a county-level emergency affecting travel occurs, the county EMA updates the status, reflected in the app.

While the app is a useful tool, users are advised to consult additional sources for travel conditions, such as local news outlets, travel websites, weather forecasts, and social media platforms.
